Sinistral Henchmen Idura

Idura is a boss that appears in Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals. He is a powerful henchman of the Sinistrals

Character Story[]

Idura first appears in the North Labyrinth (north of Bound Kingdom) and succeeds in trapping Maxim, Selan, and Tia when they face him. They are eventually saved after taking on a horde of monsters by Bound Kingdom's main muscle Dekar, who joins the party shortly after the battle. Unfortunately, Idura escapes.

Idura returns again a year after the defeat of the Sinistral Gades when he kidnaps Jeros, the newborn son of Maxim and Selan. He retreats with Jeros to the lighthouse tower east of Parcelyte. Maxim and Selan rush to save him but are unable to attack Idura as he holds Jeros. Iris warps in to get Jeros to safety and Maxim and Selan battle with Idura. After his defeat, Idura runs off again.

Idura surfaces once again in Narcysus and kidnaps the young unmarried women there, including Iris. Maxim, Selan, and Dekar rush to the Tower of Sacrifice to help them but end up trapped in a prison with them. Dekar gets them all out by bashing his head on the bars and breaking them. The party then faces Idura, but he flees after being defeated.

The party tracks Idura's whereabouts to Karloon and faces him again in the shrine to the north. The party defeats him once and for all; however, his ghost form appears and erects a magical barrier to prevent them from escaping as he proceeds to bring down the whole shrine. Dekar breaks through the barrier and stays behind to face Idura's ghost form while the others escape. This is the last Idura is heard of and the last time Dekar is too (until near the end of the game when it is revealed that Dekar lives).
