The Master is an optional boss in Lufia: The Legend Returns. It appears on the 100th floor of the Ancient Cave, where the party can challenge it to a fight after wishing for their best weapons three times.
If the party defeats the Master, they will be able to enter the Ancient Cave at the 100th floor. After wishing for the cave to be 200 floors deep, this will make the trek to Iris faster.
Strategy[]
The Master does not attack the party, but follows a specific pattern:
- On its first turn, it fully restores the party's HP.
- On its second turn, it fully restores the party's MP.
- On its third turn, it waits.
- On its fourth turn, it kills itself.
The party must do enough damage to deplete the Master's HP before it kills itself, or they will lose the battle and be ejected from the Ancient Cave. Note that unlike the battle against the Master in Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals, the party cannot win this battle by committing suicide.
